b i o g r a p h y

Art has always been an integral part of my life. My artistic journey was launched at the age of twelve with a class in hobby ceramics. Over the following few years I opened a studio to teach and sell ceramics, which I continued to do for many years. I attained many national certifications as an instructor of ceramic art. My artful beginnings lead me to a very satisfying career as a hairstylist and make-up artist. I now am a vocational educator in a comprehensive high school. My passion for painting consumes the rest of my time.

My art today is a visual reaction and materialization of emotions. Abstract in nature, I explore sinuous organic shapes with landscape suggestions. Figurative motifs are another genre that I explore due to my love of the human form and classic shape. My compositions exceed the boundaries of the canvas as though they were close-ups. The extreme texture in my work reflects my fondness of the three dimensional disciplines.

After recently relocating to Lowell, Massachusetts, I am establishing my creative roots in the blossoming artist community. My work has been exhibited throughout New England and the greater Boston areas. I am partners in Studio II, a professional artist studio, also in Lowell. I am an active member of The Cambridge Art Association, The Arts League of Lowell, and The Whistler House Museum of Art.
